This brand new, immersive version of Nathan Sawaya’s iconic LEGO art exhibit features original collections, over 100 sculptures made from more than 1 million bricks, a LEGO safari, moving installations, 360 degree projections, and much more.
The renewed version of the critically acclaimed exhibition opens at the Melbourne Showgrounds on 14 April – with tickets on sale now.
Nathan Sawaya is an award-winning artist who creates awe-inspiring works of art using only toy LEGO bricks. His multiple global touring exhibitions, Art of the Brick, have become an international phenomenon reinventing the way people see both LEGO bricks and art.
Much of the collection of artwork focuses on themes of construction, deconstruction, metamorphosis and several examples of transformation, including “Yellow” which has become one of Sawaya’s most iconic and recognizable sculptures. This iconic piece was created from 11,000 individual yellow bricks more than a decade ago and depicts a human figure ripping open its own chest.
