Marvel Stadium has announced it will be hosting an exclusive VIP party in addition to providing a free live site for Game One of the NBA Finals 2024.
On Friday 7 June the screens in Stadium square will beam the NBA Finals live from the US, while the upstairs View Bar at the stadium will host an exclusive VIP party with special guests.
The two events will run concurrently: the free live site at Stadium Square (Gates 2 & 3) from 9:00am, with the VIPs kicking off at 9.30am.
Marvel Stadium GM Scott Fitzgerald said the stadium will deliver NBA fans the best experience in the state to watch the the opening game of the finals.
“The interest in the NBA in Australia has never been bigger, and the Finals is one of the world’s great sporting events,” he said.
“The NBA know how to put on a show, and the Stadium is ready to deliver fans a spectacular morning they won’t forget.”
“To have the likes of Gaze, Copeland and Dyson Daniels in attendance, allows us to have some of the best basketball minds available to breakdown the match-up and gives fans great insight into the contest,” he said.
Live site details
Access to the live site will include free entry, a giant 257-inch screen to enjoy the game, delicious food & beverages on offer, bars and coffee shops open including The Johnnie Walker Bar and EARL Canteen, appearances from current NBA player Dyson Daniels and NBL legend Lanard Copeland.
There will also be two 3×3 Hustle basketball courts for fans to ‘let it rain’ from downtown during the game breaks.
No tickets are required, with the NBA broadcast and event beginning from 9:00am, and game time TBC dependent on the two finals teams.
Additionally, radio station SEN will host a special edition outside broadcast at the stadium for The Run Home with Andy and Gazey from 9am – 12:00pm.

VIP party details
The exclusive and ticketed VIP Party kicks off at 9:30am, and for those wanting a more premium experience a limited capacity VIP viewing will be hosted in the brand-new View Bar.
A food and beverage package is included, while big screens, lounges and views of the Marvel Stadium field will make this the best place in Melbourne to watch the match.
An exclusive Q&A and meet & greet will take place with former AFL player Josh Jenkins and NBA and NBL talent Dyson Daniels, Lanard Copeland and a number of current AFL players.
