Melbourne’s iconic Chapel Street Festival is making a spectacular comeback on Sunday, 23 February 2025, after a hiatus of 25 years. This long-awaited event is set to attract more than 100,000 visitors, transforming the vibrant strip into a hub of music, food, fashion, art, and family-friendly activities.
The festival will feature six themed spaces catering to diverse interests. Anthem Park will keep the crowd entertained with live bands, DJs, and family-friendly fun.
Foodies can indulge in gourmet delights at the Chapel Street Food Court, where popular eateries like Mr. Miyagi, Hawker Hall, and LK Hospitality will showcase specially curated menus.
Fashion and art enthusiasts will find their haven at The Pillars, while car lovers can marvel at over 50 classic cars and an exhilarating motocross demo at the Chap Laps Classic Car Show. Meanwhile, Colour Kingdom promises a whimsical experience for kids with face painting and games.
For those seeking relaxation, Radiant Fields offers yoga, Pilates, and a serene spiritual music show at dusk.
The Victorian Government contributed $450,000 to revive this much-loved festival. Organisers aim to see it flourish into an event akin to the St Kilda Festival, which attracts thousands of visitors to the area and neighboring suburbs.
“The Chapel Street Festival was legendary back in the day — drawing hundreds of thousands to celebrate live music, food and fashion,” said Matt Lanigan, Chapel Street Festival Director.
“We’re bringing back everything that made the original festival iconic, plus some fresh new elements, to create an unforgettable experience for fans old and new,” he said.
More details about the festival will be released closer to the date.
