Scottish rock royalty Franz Ferdinand are set to electrify Australian stages this November and December, marking their first visit since 2018. Frontier Touring has announced their triumphant return in support of The Human Fear, the band’s sixth studio album and a bold leap into upbeat, life-affirming pop rock.

Renowned for their high-octane performances and genre-blending innovation, the multi-platinum outfit will play five headline shows across the country. Audiences in Perth, Brisbane, Thirroul, Melbourne, and Sydney will experience Franz Ferdinand’s signature sound live — from early hits like Take Me Out to new anthems Audacious and Bar Lonely. Produced with Mark Ralph, The Human Fear delves into deeply human emotions, embracing vulnerability while delivering irresistible hooks.
In Melbourne they’ll be playing in the Royal Botanic Gardens on Friday 28 November as part of the Live At The Gardens series.
This tour also marks the first Australian shows featuring new members Audrey Tait and Dino Bardot, with Julian Corrie joining frontman Alex Kapranos and bassist Bob Hardy on songwriting duties. The result is a revitalised lineup driving the band’s creative evolution while staying true to their art-school roots and pop instincts.
Joining them are local indie heroes Teenage Dads, fresh from a #1 album and international tour, and rising garage-punk force Delivery, whose raw energy has taken them from Melbourne’s dive bars to European stages.
With over 10 million albums sold and an enduring global legacy, Franz Ferdinand’s 2025 tour promises an unforgettable live experience. Tickets go on sale Wednesday 14 May, with Frontier presale beginning Monday 12 May via frontiertouring.com/franzferdinand.
