After more than a year away from Australian stages, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard are set to return home with an ambitious east coast tour in December 2025. The tour supports their upcoming 27th studio album, Phantom Island, slated for release on June 13 via their own label, p(doom) records.
The prolific Australian rock band formed in Melbourne in 2010 and are known for their genre-blending style. They have explored psychedelic rock, thrash metal, jazz, and electronic music across their extensive discography. Their energetic live performances and experimental approach have earned them a dedicated global fanbase.
The band will perform a mix of traditional rock shows and orchestral concerts, collaborating with local symphony orchestras under the baton of conductor Chad Kelly. Orchestral performances are scheduled at the Sydney Opera House Concert Hall on December 2 and 3, and at Brisbane’s Princess Theatre on December 9.
Melbourne audiences can experience the orchestral show at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl on December 12, followed by a standard rock performance on December 13.
Supporting acts include Sydney duo Party Dozen for the rock shows, and Folk Bitch Trio opening the Melbourne orchestral concert.
Tickets for the Phantom Island tour are expected to sell quickly, given the band’s reputation for dynamic live performances and their genre-defying musical style. For full ticketing details, visit kinggizzardandthelizardwizard.com.
