The Victorian Government has announced a $10.5million investment to continue half−price camping fees at Parks Victoria campgrounds across the state until at least July 2027.
The popular initiative first introduced in 2029 has already saved campers more than $25 million in booking fees while making nature more accessible to families and outdoor enthusiasts.
This latest commitment follows the successful $9 million free camping program that ran until June 2025, which provided complimentary access to 131 bookable campgrounds. The return to discounted rates ensures Victorians can continue exploring the state’s natural wonders at affordable prices.
Lisa Patroni, Executive Director of Visitor Experience at Parks Victoria, praised the government’s ongoing support. “Since 2019, half-price camping has made the great outdoors more accessible than ever for many Victorian families,” she said.
“Visiting our parks is the perfect way to spend time outdoors without breaking the bank, with more than 130 bookable campgrounds to choose from.”
Bookings for the July-December 2025 period will open at 10am AEST on Monday 2 June, with a staggered release throughout the week to manage demand.
With affordable access to some of Victoria’s most stunning natural locations, the extended program ensures more families can enjoy the state’s breathtaking landscapes while supporting regional tourism.
