Mattel’s wildly popular Malibu Barbie Café is making its Australian debut at Chadstone Shopping Centre this month – its first-ever launch outside the United States. Following sold-out seasons in New York, Chicago, and Miami, the immersive dining experience brings a bold blend of 1970s nostalgia and Barbiecore energy to Melbourne.

Located in The Social Quarter, this two-storey, family-friendly pop-up is more than just a place to eat. It’s an entire world inspired by the carefree charm of Malibu Barbie.
Guests can enjoy all-day casual dining with a mouth-watering menu of Barbie-themed treats, desserts, and refreshing drinks. Upstairs, the Ken Kabana offers themed cocktails that channel the spirit of 70s Malibu in a vibrant beachside lounge setting.

The experience continues with the Malibu Barbie Café x Impala roller rink, surrounded by palm trees, colourful murals and an upbeat summer soundtrack. The café also features a “History of Beach” installation, charting Barbie’s cultural evolution over the decades, and exclusive limited-edition merchandise.
One of the biggest hits is the life-sized Barbie box, giving guests the perfect Instagram-worthy photo op. With so many playful elements, it’s a destination for fans of all ages.

Running from June through Summer 2026, the Malibu Barbie Café promises a splash of sunshine and whimsy in the heart of Melbourne’s fashion capital.
Early bookings are recommended to secure a spot in this vibrant, feel-good celebration of Barbie’s enduring legacy.
