One year after shaking up Melbourne’s dining scene, Hotel Nacional – the city’s pioneering gluten-free Mexican venue – is celebrating its first birthday in style. From Monday, June 23rd to Friday, June 27th, every margarita, dish, and glass of wine will be half price across all five levels of this vibrant Hardware Lane destination.

“The past 12 months have been an incredible journey for our team,” reflects owner Taylor Granchi, a hospitality veteran who spearheaded the bold concept.
“This week-long celebration is our way of giving back to the people who’ve supported us and helped bring Hotel Nacional to life.”
The festivities coincide with the launch of a bold new winter menu by Head Chef Sergio Tourn, featuring modern Mexican dishes like:
- Tuna ceviche with chilli oil and hazelnut salsa macha
- Pumpkin tamales with braised lentils (V)
- Chamoy-glazed pork with hibiscus
- Tres leches cake with chocolate champurrado
“After more than a decade in Melbourne’s hospitality scene, being part of something as ambitious as Hotel Nacional is incredibly special,” adds co-owner Alex Greco.

Beyond the birthday specials, the venue continues its popular offerings including:
- $20 lunch burrito bowls (Mon-Fri 12-3pm)
- Two-for-one margaritas every Monday
- $80 bottomless brunches with unlimited drinks
With banquet menus starting at $65pp (including a fully vegan option), Hotel Nacional proves gluten-free dining can be both inclusive and exciting.
