Getting to Melbourne Airport from the east or west is about to get a whole lot easier. SkyBus will soon launch two new express services: one from Box Hill and one from Sunshine, giving passengers and airport workers more direct options.
The Eastern Express kicks off 31 August, running between Box Hill Central and Melbourne Airport with stops at Watsonia and Doncaster.
Then on 9 November, the Sunshine Express begins, linking Brimbank – one of the airport’s biggest workforce catchment areas – directly with the terminal for the first time.
These new services will join SkyBus’s existing Melbourne City Express and Peninsula Express routes. And there’s a greener future on the horizon too, with SkyBus committing to switch its entire Melbourne fleet to fully electric vehicles by 2031.
Melbourne Airport’s Chief of Property, Retail and Ground Transport Jai McDermott says the expansion is a major win.
“SkyBus is an essential part of our transport mix, and these new services will provide much needed improvements to connectivity for our staff and passengers. We thank the Victorian Government for providing SkyBus with the certainty and SkyBus for committing to these services,” he said.
