The Tesselaar Tulip Festival is celebrating its 70th anniversary this spring, marking seven decades of vibrant blooms and cherished traditions in Silvan, Victoria.
From September 13 to October 12, 2025, the festival will showcase over a million tulips across five acres of beautifully landscaped gardens, offering visitors a kaleidoscope of colours and experiences.

Held at the Tesselaar Flower Farm on Monbulk Road, the festival has grown from a humble display by Dutch immigrants Cees and Johanna Tesselaar in 1954 to one of Australia’s most iconic spring events. Today, it attracts thousands of visitors each year, featuring over 120 tulip varieties and a range of cultural celebrations.
This year’s festival calendar includes themed weekends such as Turkish Weekend (Sept 13–14), Dutch Weekend (Sept 20–21), All That Jazz Weekend (Sept 26–28), Rock the Fields Weekend (Oct 4–5), and Irish Weekend (Oct 11–12), each offering unique cultural experiences and entertainment.
In addition to the stunning floral displays, visitors can enjoy live music, multicultural food stalls, garden games, and family-friendly activities. The festival provides a perfect opportunity to immerse oneself in the beauty of spring while celebrating the rich cultural heritage of the tulip.

With free entry for children under 16 and dogs on leads welcome, the Tesselaar Tulip Festival offers a memorable day out for families and flower enthusiasts alike.
