After spellbinding audiences in New York, LA and Toronto, the Water Lantern Festival is set to return to Australia this spring, bringing its shimmering magic to Frankston’s Beauty Park on 18 and 19 October.

For one weekend only, the park transforms into a glowing lake of light, as thousands of hand-decorated lanterns drift across the water at sunset. The simple act of personalising and releasing your lantern becomes a shared ritual of connection – whether you’re honouring the past, celebrating the present or dreaming of what’s next.
The night isn’t just about lanterns. A lineup of live performances and mellow tunes sets the tone, while food trucks and local makers dish up eats and treats to keep you fuelled. Families will love the scavenger hunt and kids’ activities, while everyone is invited to share stories, laughter and moments with friends old and new.

Running for four hours each evening, the festival is designed to be family-friendly, welcoming all ages. It’s a rare chance to slow down and soak in an atmosphere that feels equal parts celebration and reflection.
With tickets limited and demand high after a successful earlier tour this year, the Water Lantern Festival is expected to sell fast..
