This October, the Melbourne Planetarium will once again become the stage for a series of transcendent musical performances as K Mak and Angel Strings return for two special evenings under the stars.
K Mak’s shows on Saturday 18 October will fuse cello, violin, synths, beats and vocals into a lush hybrid of classical, alternative and electropop, accompanied by sumptuous tailored visuals.
The following night, Sunday 19 October, Angel Strings will take audiences on a celestial journey, pairing sublime string quartet repertoire by Philip Glass, Ravel, Max Richter, Karl Jenkins and Elgar with the divine majesty of the cosmos.

The Planetarium’s unique setting, featuring 16m domed ceilings, reclining seats and 7.1 surround sound, elevates these already arresting performances into something utterly immersive.
“We want to take people somewhere they’ve never been before” says Kathryn McKee, director of Angel Strings and the creative force behind K Mak. Fresh from a 92-show run in Edinburgh, McKee looks set to deliver on that promise.
K Mak is McKee’s originals project, informed by her work with Kanye West, Eminem, Vera Blue and Opera Queensland. She has graced stages from Woodford Folk Festival to the World Science Festival, with Planetarium shows repeatedly selling out across Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth and Anywhere Fringe Festivals. Angel Strings, meanwhile, bring pedigree and versatility, having performed with Guy Sebastian, Archie Roach and Moein, and featured in the Candlelight Concerts series.
With only two nights on offer, these shows promise an unforgettable melding of music, visuals and atmosphere. Tickets are available from melbournefringe.com.au
