Innocent Bystander is hitting the streets – literally – with a new way to experience wine that’s more festival than formal tasting.
The winery has moved out of its old Healesville establishment, swapping its cellar door for chrome and wheels, debuting a fully customised Airstream Mobile Cellar Door that will make its first stop in Melbourne on Saturday 15 November.
The launch, dubbed the Innocent Bystander Born Different Party, will take over the warehouse space at 524 Flinders Street and flip it into something between a pop-up bar, art installation and late-night playground. There’ll be no white tablecloths here — just good wine, cheeky energy and a lot of character.
From 5pm, guests can score two glasses of wine and a cult burger from Collingwood’s Slowpoke Lounge & Lookout for $25, before diving into a night stacked with surprises. Alongside tastings of Innocent Bystander favourites – Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, Easy As Shiraz, Tassie Savvy and a Watermelon Spritz slushy – the event promises tattoo artists, barbers, glam stations, tarot readers, drag performances, DJs and a photobooth.
“Innocent Bystander champions those bold enough to carve their own path,” says Brand Manager Georgia McNeil.
“Innocent Bystander was founded by a brewer, and that outsider perspective has always shaped who we are. Our name reflects how we’ve approached the wine world, looking in and choosing to do things differently. At the end of the day, we’re all about making seriously good wines that are best paired with great people.”
After its Melbourne debut, the Airstream will park up at Queen Victoria Market over summer, pouring wines and vibes for shoppers and wanderers alike.
