This summer, the National Gallery of Victoria will be transformed into a kaleidoscope of colour, creativity and movement with Let’s Party! Fashion for Kids: Designed by Danielle Brustman, a free interactive exhibition opening b at NGV International.
Created especially for young visitors, the show turns the NGV’s Children’s Gallery into an immersive fashion playground packed with dancing, dress-ups and design.

At its centre is a glowing dance floor beneath disco balls, inviting kids to show off their best moves to a party soundtrack. Around the dance floor, vibrant fashion pieces from the NGV’s Fashion and Textiles Collection set the scene, showcasing the creativity of local and international designers.
The exhibition features more than thirty-five garments and accessories, from the avant-garde designs of Issey Miyake and Jean Paul Gaultier to contemporary creations by Romance Was Born, Lisa Waup x Verner and Nixi Killick. From ruffled gowns to punk-inspired streetwear, the display celebrates the joy of self-expression through fashion.

Designed by award-winning Australian designer Danielle Brustman, the gallery has been imagined as a theatrical and sensory space filled with glittering lights, bold colours and playful textures. Brustman, known for her vibrant interiors, drew inspiration from Japanese designer Tomo Koizumi’s exuberant Look 27 — a rainbow-hued ensemble made from 200 metres of ruffled organza.
Children can explore a hands-on dress-up zone featuring heart, star and lightning bolt costumes by Melbourne-based maker Brynna Lowen, then step into a photobooth to pose, twirl and capture their party look. Creative stations also invite kids to design and decorate their own party hats to wear home.
Let’s Party! Fashion for Kids runs from 28 November 2025 to 3 May 2026 at NGV International, St Kilda Road. More details at ngv.melbourne.
