Victorians have had their say, and three much loved local favourites have officially risen to the top in this year’s Vic’s Picks, the statewide competition celebrating the bakeries, fish and chip shops and family run eateries that define everyday eating across the state.
Springvale’s Bun Bun Bakery has taken out the title of Victoria’s favourite bánh mì, a win that will surprise no one who has ever stood in the queue stretching out the door and along Springvale Road. Their famed pork rolls earned a special nod, praised for their textural balance and the kind of consistency that keeps customers returning in any weather.
In the state’s west, Colac’s Hulms Bakery has added another accolade to its impressive 75 year legacy, winning Victoria’s favourite pie. The regional stalwart has long been a go to for travellers and locals seeking a classic country bake, and now it holds a place in the Vic’s Picks hall of fame.
Cranbourne’s Camms Road Fish and Chips has claimed victory in the hotly contested potato cake category, celebrated for its golden crisp coating, fluffy centre and the sheer creativity of a dedicated potato cake menu boasting around 20 flavours. Regulars swear by the chicken salt, but it is the variety and consistency that have cemented its reputation.
The Vic’s Picks Awards were voted on by the public over four weeks in September and October 2025, with the aim of shining a light on the venues that keep neighbourhoods proud and hungry locals well fed.
