Melbourne food lovers and winter wanderers will have a new reason to head east in 2026 with the launch of the Noojee and Neerim Truffle Festival. Running from 11 July to 2 August, the festival will celebrate West Gippsland’s French black truffles and the region’s growing reputation for cool-climate produce.
The program will stretch across four weekends and include truffle hunts with expert growers and trained dogs, chef-led long lunches and dinners, cooking demonstrations, masterclasses, farm tours and artisan markets. Families can also enjoy hands-on activities and relaxed food events designed to showcase the area’s winter charm.
Visitors will be able to try truffle dishes, wander forest trails, explore heritage walks and take in scenic lookouts, all within a short two-hour drive from Melbourne. Many local venues will take part, offering cosy spaces to warm up after a day outdoors.
Festival Director Abby Graham said the event offers something truly special. “Truffles are mysterious and indulgent, but they’re also a reflection of our soil and our seasons. This festival celebrates everything that makes West Gippsland’s food culture special.”
Destination Gippsland CEO Terry Robinson said the festival will become an important winter attraction for the region. “The Noojee and Neerim Truffle Festival shines a spotlight on Gippsland’s exciting truffle story. With multi-weekend experiences and seasonal dining, it’s a fantastic new reason to visit in winter.”
