Leftfield will bring their influential electronic sound back to Australia and New Zealand in 2026, marking their first visit in eight years and celebrating an impressive 35 years since the group first emerged from London’s club scene.
Melbourne fans will get their moment when the group plays the Royal Botanic Gardens as part of Live in the Gardens on Sunday 8 March.
The anniversary tour promises a career-spanning set featuring the tracks that cemented Leftfield’s place in dance music history, including Original, Release the Pressure, Phat Planet, Open Up, Song of Life and Afro Left. Formed in 1988, the group helped define 1990s UK electronica, earning Mercury Prize nominations for both their debut album Leftism in 1995 and its follow-up Rhythm and Stealth in 1999.

Originally a duo made up of Neil Barnes and Paul Daley, Leftfield paused activity in 2002 before Barnes revived the project in 2010. That return led to the release of their acclaimed third album Alternative Light Source in 2015 and 2022’s This Is What We Do. The group has spent much of this year on the road celebrating the milestone, with the momentum set to carry through to their 2026 tour.
“It will be 36 years since I released the first Leftfield track, Not Forgotten, and 31 years now of Leftism. It feels like the perfect time to celebrate and I’m so pleased that finally we get to come back to New Zealand and Australia. Let’s make it unforgettable. Can’t wait to see you there,” Barnes said.
The tour begins in Christchurch on 28 February before continuing through Auckland and Wellington, then moving to Brisbane, Sydney and finally Melbourne. Late Nite Tuff Guy will support all Australian dates.
Frontier Member presale commences Monday 8 December 11am local time before the general on sale kicks off Wednesday 10 December 12pm local time. Tickets and tour information via frontiertouring.com/leftfield.
