Exploring Ballarat’s biggest attractions has become much simpler with a new hop-on hop-off bus service now operating across the city, connecting four of its most popular destinations with one affordable ticket.
Running daily between 11am and 3pm as part of a three-month trial, the continuous loop links Sovereign Hill, Ballarat Wildlife Park, the Eureka Centre and Ballarat Town Hall. With a circuit taking around 25 minutes, visitors can hop on and off throughout the day, creating their own sightseeing itinerary without worrying about parking, navigating unfamiliar streets or coordinating public transport.
Day passes offer unlimited travel, with adult tickets priced at $10, children’s tickets at $5, free travel for children aged four and under with a ticket, and a family pass for two adults and two children costing $23.
City of Ballarat Mayor Cr Tracey Hargreaves said the new service is making it easier for people to experience everything the city has to offer.
“This new hop-on hop-off service makes it easier than ever for people to experience the very best of Ballarat in one simple journey.”

The initiative is also designed to encourage visitors to spend more time exploring Ballarat, supporting local businesses while making it easier to discover the city’s history, wildlife and cultural attractions.
Community feedback gathered during the trial will help determine whether the service becomes a permanent addition to Ballarat’s tourism offering.
