A major transformation is set to get underway at Crown Melbourne, with the Southbank icon announcing a $200 million redevelopment set to reshape the precinct over the next two years.
Marking its biggest investment in almost three decades, the overhaul will introduce more than 15 new restaurants, bars and casual eateries, alongside a sweeping revitalisation of the Riverwalk. The vision is clear: attract a new generation of guests while reinforcing Crown’s status as one of the city’s most dynamic entertainment hubs.

Among the headline additions is globally renowned butcher Victor Churchill, who will open a new venue in mid 2027 overlooking the Yarra. The space promises a dramatic, design led steak experience that blends old world glamour with premium produce.
A new riverside gastropub will inject fresh energy into the Riverwalk, offering elevated pub favourites, big screen sport and a seamless shift from daytime dining to late night drinks. Entertainment will also take centre stage with The Palms being reimagined as Crown Live Theatre. Currently under construction, the upgraded 1,250 seat venue will reopen in November 2026 with luxury renovations and a new balcony space for pre show socialising.

Over at Crown Towers Melbourne, the lobby bar will receive a sophisticated refresh, while Crown Metropol Melbourne will unveil a sky high private events space on its 28th floor this May.
The redevelopment will also deliver around 2,000 construction jobs and a major sustainability push, with rooftop solar, battery storage and energy saving technology set to reduce carbon emissions by 23 per cent by 2027.
Openings will roll out progressively from mid 2026 through to 2027.
