Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke will play four concerts in Australia as part of his first-ever solo tour – two each in Sydney and Melbourne. He last performed in Australia with Radiohead back in 2012.
He’ll be performing at two of the country’s most iconic venues: the Sydney Opera House and the Sidney Myer Music Bowl.
“I will be alone on stage trying a new kind of solo show thing playing versions of songs from my recent and not so recent past,” Yorke announced on social media.
On the “Everything” tour Yorke will perform work from across his career – with a back catalogue that goes back decades. It will feature Radiohead tracks as well as his recent work with The Smile, as well as solo and soundtrack songs.
Yorke is a prolific singer-songwriter. Aside from his role as principal songwriter and frontman in Radiohead, Thom Yorke’s prolific body of work includes three studio albums under his own name, heading up the project Atoms For Peace, original film scores and more recently, The Smile.
The announcement comes after Yorke released two new recordings in rapid succession: The Smile’s Wall of Eyes in January and Yorke’s soundtrack for the film Confidenza in April.
Thom Yorke’s Melbourne performances will be at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl on 29 and 30 October 2024.
Tickets go on sale on Tuesday 4 June 2024 at 12:00pm.
