Iconic Australian band You Am I continues to celebrate the 30th anniversary of their critically acclaimed second album, Hi Fi Way by announcing the accompanying tour will expand, including parts of regional Australia.
“The response to recent shows has been overwhelming and humbling for us, its been a pleasure playing and enjoying rock ‘n rock with y’all over the last few weeks,” the band said in a statement.
“So we’re adding dates and keeping the party rolling! back to a more ‘sensible’ set length based around Hi Fi Way. Keeping some gold and maybe even adding some pewter for good measure.”
The expanded tour will include five dates in Victoria in July in Chelsea Heights, Barwon Heads, Castlemaine, Ballarat and Warrnambool.
Released in 1995, Hi Fi Way is the critically acclaimed second album by You Am I. Widely regarded as one of the most influential Australian albums of the 1990s, it features a raw, melodic sound blending garage rock with heartfelt lyricism.
Produced by Lee Ranaldo of Sonic Youth, the record captures frontman Tim Rogers at his songwriting peak, with standout tracks like “Cathy’s Clown” and “Purple Sneakers.” Hi Fi Way debuted at number one on the ARIA chart and cemented the band’s place in Australian rock history, later appearing on numerous “greatest albums” lists.
