New York’s legendary cocktail bar Death & Co, renowned for revolutionising modern mixology, is set to open its first Australian outposts in Melbourne and Brisbane in spring 2025. This marks the brand’s first expansion outside the United States, where it currently operates acclaimed bars in New York City, Los Angeles, Denver, and Washington DC.
Established in 2006, Death & Co has been instrumental in shaping the modern cocktail movement, earning accolades such as “America’s Best Cocktail Bar” and “World’s Best Cocktail Menu” at the Tales of the Cocktail convention.
Signature drinks like the Oaxaca Old Fashioned, Naked and Famous, and the Conference have become staples in the cocktail world.
The Melbourne and Brisbane ventures are a collaboration with Australian Venue Co (AVC), which operates over 200 hospitality venues across Australia.
For Melburnians, it promises an immersive experience—think dim lighting, intimate booths, and meticulous drinks served with theatrical flair.
