After electrifying crowds across North America, Europe, and the UK on a massive 61-date tour, beloved Australian band The Cat Empire are bringing their high-energy live show home this August and September. The tour will give fans their first chance to experience tracks from Bird In Paradise – the band’s boldest and most vibrant album yet – performed live.
Blending flamenco, funk, Latin, jazz, and Creole influences, Bird In Paradise marks a return to The Cat Empire’s organic roots while pushing their signature sound into thrilling new territory. Eight shows will be all-ages, allowing younger fans to experience the band’s legendary stage presence.
Victorian fans will be able to catch them at the Northcote Theatre and Ballarat Civic Hall in September.
Formed in Melbourne in 1999, the group quickly gained a reputation for their high-energy live performances and genre-defying sound. With hits like “Hello” and “The Chariot,” they earned international acclaim, touring extensively and building a global fanbase. The band underwent a lineup refresh in 2022, ushering in a new era while staying true to their vibrant roots.
Special guests Little Quirks will join the tour, ensuring an unforgettable night of genre-defying music. Tickets go on sale at 12 pm AEST Thursday, 22 May, via The Cat Empire’s website.
