The search for Victoria’s finest parma is over—and food lovers will need to make a trip to Gippsland to taste the champion dish. The Star Hotel in Sale has claimed the prestigious Regional Parma of the Year title at the AHA Victoria State Awards for Excellence, while The Bay Hotel in Mornington took top honours for metro areas.
The Star Hotel’s award-winning parma is topped with shredded ham, a house-made Napoli sauce blend of two cheeses, It costs $32 for a full serve or $25 for a half.
The Bay Hotel’s parma has Napoli sauce, smoked ham and cheese and is served with a salad and chips for $30.
With hearty portions and gourmet twists defining this year’s winners, Victoria’s pub scene continues to elevate the humble parma into an art form.
The awards night also celebrated Victoria’s top pubs, with Hotel Sorrento named Overall Hotel of the Year (Metro) and Traralgon’s The Crown Hotel claiming the regional equivalent. Brendan Anderson of The Victoria Rutherglen earned Chef of the Year for his innovative pub fare, while industry veteran Bill Perry from Richmond’s London Tavern received the night’s highest individual honor—the Nikakis Benchmark Award.
