Melbourne’s sky-high bar Good Heavens has swapped sunny cocktails for frosty fun as it unveils Heavens Above – a bold winter takeover transforming the city’s largest rooftop into a vibrant, alpine-inspired escape.
At the heart of the experience? An icy new-age Kurling rink where competition, cocktails and camaraderie collide. Whether you’re chasing bragging rights or belly laughs, the rink is open for nightly play, inviting Melburnians to slide into winter.

The transformation blends the venue’s Palm Springs soul with lush textures, rich colour, and a fabric-draped ceiling installation by textile artist Oscar Lake, curated by Georgia Harvey, delivering a dreamy, cocoon-like atmosphere.
Beneath the canopy, cocktail wizard Matt Linklater (ex-Black Pearl) shakes things up with a list designed for winter indulgence: icy Frosé Tips, smoky Black Diamond Fizz, sherbet-tinged Bluebird Sour, or the decadent S’mores Espresso Martini.

The drinks pair perfectly with Jarrod Di Blasi’s playful, indulgent food offerings. Think mac and cheese toasties with smoked garlic and porcini, devilled eggs topped with caviar, and smoked brisket-fat brushed oysters with hot sauce. A soft chocolate mousse with cold-pressed yuzu oil rounds out the luxe comfort menu.

The festivities peak on Saturday 21 June, when Good Heavens hosts its Winter Solstice Party, featuring a luxe oyster bar and DJ sets curated by Animals Dancing.
For guests ordering a Whispering Angel, there’s even a chance to win one of three spa-themed prizes—highlighting the rooftop’s partnership with Sense of Self and Whispering Angel rosé.
Good Heavens is at 2/79 Bourke Street Melbourne, open 7 days 12pm til late. www.goodheavens.com.au
