John Butler is set to embark on his 2025 PRISM Australian tour, marking his first national campaign with a band since 2019 .
The PRISM tour supports Butler’s upcoming album, PRISM, scheduled for release on September 5 . Described as “contemplative and explosive, joyous and free, funk-filled, cinematic and unapologetic,” the album features singles like “Trippin’ on You” and “So Sorry” .

Victorian audiences can catch him in September at Northcote, Bendigo and Ballarat.
Butler will be accompanied by his three-piece band: original touring drummer Michael Barker, percussionist Michael Boase, and Ian Peres on keys and bass . The tour will also feature ARIA-nominated singer-songwriter Emma Donovan as a special guest.
Born in California, Buter is an American-Australian musician renowned for his fusion of roots, folk, and alternative rock. In 1998, he formed the John Butler Trio, which achieved significant success with albums like Sunrise Over Sea, Grand National, and April Uprising, all reaching number one on the Australian charts.
Beyond his musical accomplishments, Butler co-founded Jarrah Records in 2002, promoting independent Australian music. He is also known for his environmental activism, participating in campaigns such as Save Ningaloo Reef. After the John Butler Trio concluded in 2019, Butler embarked on a solo career, releasing albums like Running River and Still Searching.
