This isn’t your typical hotel stay; it’s a revolutionary “playcation” concept that combines immersive quick-play challenge rooms, cutting-edge games, and theatrical cocktails with a healthy dose of nostalgia from the beloved Archie Brothers arcade.
Spanning an impressive 1,600 square metres, this dual-venue experience represents Melbourne’s most ambitious entertainment offering yet. At Hijinx Hotel, guests are invited to “play, not stay” as they swipe their key card to access a series of wildly imaginative game rooms cleverly disguised as hotel accommodations.
But don’t expect minibars and room service – these “rooms” feature ball pits, bold colors, brain-teasing challenges, and non-stop laughter.

The QV location introduces several brand-new experiences exclusive to Melbourne. Adventurous guests can channel their inner art thief in a never-before-seen challenge room that tests precision, teamwork and quick thinking.
Another highlight is the mega light-up floor grid – an interactive game surface that responds to movement, perfect for showing off dance moves or testing reflexes. Groups of 2-6 players can tackle five challenge rooms in rapid-fire four-minute sessions, with ten total rooms offering endless replayability.
Next door, Archie Brothers brings its signature circus-themed arcade charm, complete with nostalgic games, whimsical cocktails, and cutting-edge VR experiences like Godzilla VR. Together, the two concepts create a full-blown fun factory featuring:
