Open House Melbourne returns from July 25 to 27, 2025, inviting the public to explore nearly 200 of the city’s most intriguing buildings, spaces, and stories.
This year’s theme, “Stories of the City,” focuses on personal and collective narratives that shape Melbourne’s identity—from migration and innovation to heritage and resilience.
The program features massive lineup of building tours, talks, and exhibitions across Melbourne’s CBD and suburbs.Highlights include access to iconic sites like Parliament House, the Supreme Court, and Government House, as well as lesser-known gems such as former industrial sites, historic homes, and contemporary architectural landmarks.
Highlights include:
- Award-winning homes, including the Naples Street House by Edition Office, recipient of the 2024 Robin Boyd Award for Residential Architecture.
- ECHO.1, Melbourne’s first turnkey Passivhaus development, emphasizing sustainable design.
- Exclusive access to the new 2.5-kilometre Veloway, part of the West Gate Tunnel Project, designed for cyclists.
- The recently completed Port Phillip EcoCentre will be open, highlighting environmental initiatives.
- Rarely accessible locations such as the Essendon Fields Airport Terminal and Mission Whitten Oval, home of the Western Bulldogs Football Club.
