Ever dreamed of walking alongside a lion, diving beneath the sea with a whale, or locking eyes with a life-sized dinosaur? Now you can, thanks to the arrival of Melbourne’s first-ever Hologram Zoo, now open in Ringwood.
Tucked inside Ringwood Square, this cutting-edge experience brings nature roaring to life using hyper-realistic 3D holograms. No cages. No glass. Just you, the creatures, and an immersive digital landscape that feels anything but artificial.
The zoo features 20 walk-through enclosures where visitors can encounter animals from the savannah, rainforest, ocean, and prehistoric past. Think elephants, sharks, flamingos and yes, the occasional T-Rex!
The tech comes courtesy of Axiom Holographics (the same brains behind Bill Gates’ futuristic aquarium), and it’s all about combining wow-factor with ethical innovation — an animal-free attraction that still delivers awe.
There’s also a party room, photo studio, and plenty of kid-friendly zones, making this a family day out with a serious sci-fi twist.
Find the Hologram Zoo at 24 Charter Street, Ringwood. It’s open seven days, and tickets are available via hologramzoo.melbourne.
