This winter, Prahran Square won’t just be a place to pass through – it’ll be a place to pause, play, and be awed.
From 1-17 August 2025, the globally acclaimed interactive artwork IWAGUMI AIR SCAPE by Melbourne’s own ENESS will make its long-awaited Australian debut, transforming the heart of the Chapel Street Precinct into an inflatable, light-filled dreamscape.

Free to experience and open daily, this monumental installation brings art to the everyday with a sensory world of sound, shifting light, and towering inflatable rock forms.
“Rocks hold a special place in human culture,” says ENESS founder Nimrod Weis. “Children collect them, artists are inspired by them, and ancient traditions revere them. IWAGUMI AIR SCAPE taps into that primal connection to earth and invites people right in the heart of the city to slow down, interact, and reconnect with awe.”

The installation draws from the Japanese design philosophy of iwagumi – the artful placement of stones in natural harmony, contrasting wild, mountainous textures with Melbourne’s modern skyline.
By day, they appear like ancient monoliths. By night (illuminated from 5–10pm), they shimmer with light and sound, creating a meditative yet playful public experience.
