Preston Market is set to sizzle with Italian spirit once again, as its beloved Italian Day Festival returns on Sunday 31 August 2025. From 8am to 3pm, the northside favourite will be bursting with la dolce vita — a vibrant blend of culture, cuisine, and community for all ages to enjoy.

The free event is one of Preston Market’s biggest annual drawcards, and this year’s edition is shaping up to be more flavour-packed and festive than ever.
From 10am, the market will echo with the rich sounds of live Italian music and passionate performance. Expect singalongs with Lorenzo + Co, traditional Tarantella dancers, and the soulful harmonies of the Veneto Choir — with Radio Italiana 531 broadcasting the buzz live.

Foodies are in for a treat, with mouth-watering pop-ups firing up from 8am. Sweet zeppole from Sorelle Catering, dreamy tiramisu from Pinto, authentic panzerotti, artisan gelato, Palermo’s chickpea fritters and Mama’s Polpette – it’s a festival for your tastebuds. Wash it down with a gin tasting at Gindu or grab a Lions Club cake and support a good cause.
There’s more than food on offer too — with cultural stalls from Co.As.It. and Dovida, and handy services like Forex Currency Exchange. Kids will love the free pasta necklace craft from 10am to 1pm.
Whether you’re coming for the cannoli or the community vibes, Italian Day at Preston Market is unmissable
