Sandra Bernhard doesn’t just take the stage—she owns it. Next March, the trailblazing comedian, actor, singer and author returns to Australia for the first time in more than ten years with her new show Sandyland.
“‘”Australia is grit and glamour for me, a jewel floating in the sea, a dream that merges sharp edges and beautiful breezes,” Bernhard said in her tour announcement.
“From the epic flight to the rocky beaches, its multicultural landscape, delicious cuisine and beautiful people, you can be sure that when I strut onto those stages, I’ll be ready to give everything. I assure you I will,” she said.

Known for fusing cabaret, stand-up, music and razor-sharp social commentary, Bernhard has been setting her own rules since the late ’70s. She was named one of Comedy Central’s top 100 stand-up comedians of all time and has influenced generations of performers with her bold, one-woman shows.
Her upcoming tour will hit seven cities, kicking off in Brisbane on 18 March, before stops in Thirroul, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth and Auckland. Melbourne fans can catch her at Hamer Hall on 24 March.
Bernhard’s résumé is as eclectic as her stagecraft. She’s currently on screen in Apple TV+’s Severance and the upcoming A24 film Marty Supreme, while past credits include American Horror Story, POSE, Will & Grace and the cult classic The King of Comedy opposite Robert De Niro.
Expect Sandyland to be part comedy, part cabaret, part confession—and entirely Sandra. For fans who’ve been waiting over a decade, this tour promises a rare chance to see one of America’s most fearless performers at her best.
