After touring across Australia playing regional gigs, Kate Ceberano’s Australian Made Tour came to Hamer Hall on 19 September 2025 – a fitting venue for the Melbourne native. The show was a powerful celebration of her four-decade plus career and Australia’s broader musical heritage.

Ceberano delivered more than nostalgia -it was a vibrant, dynamic live performance illuminated by Ceberano’s unmistakable voice, personal storytelling and her sense of connection with the audience.
The tour’s title is a nod to Ceberano’s early days, when, at just 20 years old, she performed with I’m Talking on the original Australian Made tour of 1986/87 alongside INXS, Jimmy Barnes, and Divinyls.

From early on, the set was built with intent, delivering tribute versions of songs by Aussie icons including The Models, Flowers, The Church, INXS, Divinyls and more. Each cover carried careful reinterpretation, allowing Ceberano to inhabit the material while still honouring the originals. The pacing shifted between high-energy renditions and more reflective moments, giving the audience time to breathe, remember and feel the weight of the journey.

Of course, we were also treated to some of Ceberano’s solo hits with songs like “Brave”, “Bedroom Eyes” and “Pash”. For the ’80s tragic among us there was even a medley of hits from Ceberano’s funk-pop band I’m Talking – “Do You Wanna Be”, “Trust Me” and “Holy Word”.
Ceberano didn’t just sing: she also played a variety of percussion instruments and at time took to the keyboard. She was joined by her incredibly talented supporting musicians. Harts (Darren Hart) on guitar and keys, while Kathleen Halloran brought a raw edge with guitar and rock instincts that clipped in beautifully with Kate’s more soulful tones. They did more than accompany her – they elevated the act, creating a tight interplay.

This performance was a musical time capsule, a reminder that Australian music’s roots are deep and that artists like Kate Ceberano carry them forward with grit, joy and true love for the work.
