Prahran Square is set to burst into colour, light and sound this spring as it transforms into a giant interactive playground for The Ephemeral Collection and The Bubble Emporium from 10 to 23 November 2025.
The free art experience will take over the heart of the Chapel Street Precinct with immersive installations, live performances and thousands of shimmering bubbles filling the air.

At the centre of the event is Ephemeral Collection by Sydney-based art and design studio Atelier Sisu. Towering up to 7.5 metres high, the work features enormous bubble-like forms made from dichroic film that refracts sunlight into a kaleidoscope of colours.
By day, the installation shimmers under the sun; by night, it transforms into a glowing wonderland with gentle lighting and ambient sound. The piece invites visitors to slow down and experience the fleeting beauty of light, reflection and movement — a celebration of impermanence and play.

Adding to the spectacle, The Bubble Emporium by Homunculus Theatre will bring its Victorian premiere to Prahran Square for 10 performances across five nights. The family-friendly show combines music, theatre and a dazzling display of 20,000 bubbles per minute. Early evening performances will feature The Golden Oldies, a whimsical act sure to charm audiences of all ages, followed by The Boys in Blue who will turn the space into an open-air dance party each night from 8pm.
Together, these two installations promise a celebration of community and creativity, inviting locals and visitors alike to rediscover the joy of art in public space.
