Engelbert Humperdinck is set to return to Australia this June and July with The Celebration Tour, bringing one of the most enduring voices in popular music back to local stages. The tour will follow shows in New Zealand before arriving in Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth and concluding in Sydney, with tickets on sale from Tuesday 10 February.
The Australasian dates extend Humperdinck’s current United States tour, which begins this month in Arizona. Australian audiences can expect a wide-ranging set drawn from his extensive catalogue, performed alongside his long-time band and shaped by more than six decades of touring experience.
Melburnians will be able to catch him at Hamer Hall on Wednesday 8 July 2026.
Approaching his 90th birthday on 2 May, Humperdinck’s career remains remarkable in scale and longevity. He has sold more than 150 million records worldwide, earning 64 gold albums, 35 platinum awards, four Grammy nominations and a Golden Globe, along with stars on the Hollywood, Las Vegas and Leicester Walks of Fame. His appeal has endured across generations, driven by both his unmistakable voice and his warm, self-aware stage presence.
Rising to prominence alongside The Beatles and The Rolling Stones, Humperdinck became a global sensation almost overnight. His breakthrough single Release Me spent 56 consecutive weeks on the charts and reached number one in 11 countries, setting a Guinness World Record that still stands. Since then, he has continued to tour internationally, performing to sold-out audiences and showing a genuine love for being on stage.
His music continues to find new audiences through film and television, with songs featured in series including Moon Knight and The Umbrella Academy, as well as in the film Bullet Train. A 2023 documentary, Engelbert Humperdinck: The Legend Continues, offered an intimate look at his life and career.
With a catalogue that spans decades and a presence that remains captivating, The Celebration Tour promises a memorable night for fans old and new. Tickets are available from www.mellenevents.com.
