Easter is getting a cocktail upgrade at 1 Hotel Melbourne, with a hands-on mixology class putting a spirited spin on seasonal traditions this long weekend.
Held at Crane Bar & Lounge on Sunday 5 April, the experience centres around the Hot Cross Rum, a cocktail inspired by the familiar spices and warmth of a classic hot cross bun. Guests will be guided through the process by the venue’s mixologists, learning how to balance flavours and build a layered drink from scratch.
The session runs from 2.30pm to 3.00pm, offering a relaxed introduction to cocktail making that’s designed to suit both beginners and those who already know their way around a shaker. Along the way, participants will work with premium ingredients and professional tools, gaining a better understanding of technique while creating their own Easter-themed drink.
The class is part of a broader long weekend offering at the Docklands hotel, with its signature restaurant open across key dates. From Here By Mike will serve lunch on Friday 3 and Saturday 4 April, alongside dinner from Friday through to Sunday, making it easy to turn the class into a full afternoon or evening out.
Tickets for the mixology session are priced at $10 and available online, with limited spots expected. For those looking to mark Easter a little differently this year, it’s a chance to swap chocolate eggs for something a bit more refined, with a cocktail in hand to match.
