Nearly three decades since they last stormed our stages, Transvision Vamp are finally coming back to Australia – and they’re bringing every ounce of glam-punk energy with them.
The iconic British pop-rock band, led by the inimitable Wendy James, will tour the country in February 2026. Melbourne fans can catch them at Northcote Theatre on Wednesday 18 February 2026.
Best known for their brash and brilliant 1989 hit “Baby I Don’t Care,” which shot to #3 on both the UK and Australian charts, Transvision Vamp’s return promises to be a love letter to their fans—those who lived the neon years, and a new generation discovering their raw, rebellious magic.

They’ll be bringing hits like “I Want Your Love,” “Tell That Girl to Shut Up,” and “The Only One” to stages in Brisbane, the Sunshine Coast, Newcastle, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth.
Wendy James, a feminist icon of 80s rock, remains a powerhouse of presence.
“I am so excited to be coming back to Australia to play the songs which started my whole musical journey!” she says. “I remember vividly so many moments across Australia… enormous success, enormous love and enormous fun.”
Backed by an all-star lineup—including Alex Ward (The Thurston Moore Group), original bassist Dave Parsons, and James Sclavunos (Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds)—this tour isn’t just a trip down memory lane. It’s a full-circle moment that promises leather-jacketed joy and irresistible hooks, live and loud.
Presales begin on 11 July via Destroy All Lines with general on sale on 15 July.
