Australia’s biggest free music festival returns to St Kilda’s iconic foreshore from 14-15 February 2026.
The City of Port Phillip has announced that First Peoples First will again kick off Day 1 of the St Kilda Festival (SKF) on 14 February.
This vibrant celebration of First Peoples music and culture spans two stages at South Beach Reserve and O’Donnell Gardens.
As well as featuring a superb all First Nations musical lineup, there’s plenty of family fun, market stalls and community events.
Day 2 (15 February) brings Big Festival Sunday, where music lovers can revel in the talent of some of Australia’s best live music performers..
Celebrations will extend across St Kilda with a stacked lineup of events and activities, food and market stalls, carnival rides, family fun and much more.
The Festival is also a great opportunity to keep the fun going by popping into a nearby venues to enjoy fantastic food or a drink in a festive atmosphere.
SKF’s popular New Music Competition also makes a comeback in 2026.
Entries open in mid-August for this coveted opportunity for emerging bands and artists to compete for the chance to play a set on the New Music Stage.
The audience’s favourite act, determined by a public vote, will take home a cash prize and a prized slot at St Kilda Festival 2027.
In September, expressions of interest will open for local traders, including for food and market stalls and food trucks, and for community groups keen to show off their talents for the crowds annually attracted by SKF.
“St Kilda is known and loved for its live music so we’re always excited to present this free summer celebration which has something for everyone to enjoy,” Port Phillip Council Mayor Louise Crawford said.
“The full 2026 program will be announced in January and keep an eye out on the St Kilda Festival website for updates,” she said.
