Melbourne’s iconic Rialto Tower is set to bloom once more as it hosts its annual breathtaking Daffodil Day floral display in support of Cancer Council Victoria.
On 20 and 21 August, the Plaza will be transformed into a sea of 38,715 vibrant daffodils, each one representing a Victorian diagnosed with cancer every year.
At the heart of this floral spectacle floats a striking 6-metre-high hot air balloon, a nod to Melbourne’s famous skies, hovering above the dazzling daffodil field.

The public are invited to purchase fresh daffodils, with all proceeds going to Cancer Council Victoria to fund life-saving research and essential support services.
Lyrian Flemming-Parsley, Head of Fundraising and Communications at Cancer Council Victoria, urged the community to get involved: “For all that Cancer takes from us – Daffodil Day is opportunity to give. It’s our chance to come together as Victorians and contribute to life-saving research, but it’s also about giving strength and hope to others.”
Now in its 39th year, Daffodil Day is one of Australia’s most vital fundraising initiatives. Last year it raised $3.3 million, and this year hopes to surpass $4 million nationwide.
Daffodils will be available at Rialto Plaza, 525 Collins Street, from 8:00AM–6PM each day until sold out, with bunches starting at $12.
