Trentham has officially been named the Top Tiny Tourism Town at the Australian Top Tourism Town Awards, triumphing over stiff competition from Robe (SA), Kalbarri (WA), Huskisson (NSW), Stanley (Tas), and the Town of 1770 (Qld). This national recognition comes just months after Trentham was awarded the 2025 Victoria Top Tourism Town in the Tiny Tourism Town category.
Taking out the Gold Award, Trentham edged out Huskisson, which claimed Silver, and the Town of 1770, awarded Bronze. Mayor Cr Don Henderson said the accolade was a significant achievement for the town and surrounding region.
“We are incredibly proud and excited to see the benefits this will bring to our community and local businesses. Trentham stands out for its natural beauty, charm, community spirit, and visitor appeal. This coveted national award is recognition of Trentham’s unique tourism offerings,” he said.
Nestled amid rolling farmland and lush native forests, Trentham is a village brimming with character. Its fertile soil produces an abundance of fresh seasonal delights, from award-winning potatoes to cherries, chestnuts, and heirloom fruits. High Street is a culinary haven, with options ranging from French farmhouse cuisine to country bakeries crafting sourdough and pastries, all enjoyed by fireside or in a leafy beer garden.
Outdoor enthusiasts are drawn to Trentham Falls, Victoria’s highest single-drop waterfall, and the surrounding trails like the shaded Domino Trail, ideal for hiking, biking, or horseback riding. Picnics and quiet reflection in the tranquil forest settings complete the experience.
With charming cottages, eclectic shops, and a range of accommodations, Trentham offers visitors an authentic taste of country life. Whether it’s a weekend getaway, culinary adventure, or outdoor exploration, the town delivers a perfectly balanced escape from the city, celebrating the simple pleasures of regional Victoria.
