Victoria’s biggest celebration of Australian garlic is back, with the South Gippsland Garlic Festival returning to Korumburra Showgrounds on Saturday 28 February 2026 for its second year.
After a strong debut, the 2026 festival is set to double in size, welcoming twice as many growers and trucking in close to two tonnes of fresh Australian garlic and garlic products for visitors to take home. It is shaping up as a must-visit event for food lovers, growers and curious cooks alike.
Victorian producers confirmed for the day include Balmattum Garlic, Pure Garlic, Gerdavale Garlic and Franklin River Garlic, alongside Garlic Kingdom from Countegany in New South Wales. More growers and stallholders will be announced in the lead-up to the event.
The festival aims to shine a light on the diversity of garlic grown across Australia, while helping visitors learn how to grow it at home and use it confidently in the kitchen. A major highlight is the Festival Kitchen, which returns with an expanded line-up of chefs from Gippsland and Melbourne.
Returning favourites include Atsu Tanaka-Morrison from Tsuko Japan in Korumburra, Jodie Odrowaz and Michael Clark from Messmates Dining in Warragul, and Alejandro Saravia from Farmers Daughters in Melbourne. They will be joined by Francesco Laera from Trulli in Meeniyan and Trevor Perkins from Hogget Kitchen in Warragul. For the first time, the kitchen will be hosted by Victorian author and food writer Richard Cornish.
Elsewhere, Garlic University will once again offer educational talks led by the Australian Garlic Industry Association, while live music from Gippsland acts Seth Stone & The Forge and Mick Harrington will keep the festival buzzing.
Family-friendly entertainment includes The Mik Maks, Bluey appearances and kids activities throughout the day.
