After a sold-out Australian tour earlier this year, acclaimed American folk duo Gillian Welch and David Rawlings are set to return in February and March 2026 for the second leg of their celebrated Woodland campaign.
The tour follows their sold-out run of shows in 2025, which included three performances at the Sydney Opera House and five nights at Melbourne’s Hamer Hall.
This time, the pair will travel further afield, beginning in Queensland before winding down the East Coast, with a stop in Adelaide and a finale through regional Victoria. Cities and towns on the itinerary include Brisbane, Gold Coast, Toowoomba, Sydney, Newcastle, Canberra, Adelaide, Melbourne, Geelong and Korumburra.

For more than 25 years, Welch and Rawlings have been cornerstones of modern American folk music. Known for their haunting harmonies, minimalist sound, and deeply human storytelling, their influence reaches across genres. From their Grammy-winning contributions to the O Brother, Where Art Thou? soundtrack to landmark albums such as Time (The Revelator) and The Harrow & The Harvest, their body of work has cemented their place in folk history.
Their latest album, Woodland (2025, Acony Records), continues that legacy, offering intimate reflections on endurance and belonging. Rolling Stone described it as “a humble offering on the altar of what remains,” while Pitchfork called it “a testament to quiet adventure and clear empathy.”
“Earlier this year we took this incredible duo to the two big cities of Sydney and Melbourne,” said Brian ‘BT’ Taranto of Love Police Touring. “Those shows were part of a longer plan to get to all their fans in Australia and New Zealand over a good period of this year and next.”
