From 1 July 2024, the Novotel and ibis Styles Melbourne Airport will open its doors, offering 464 new guest rooms to the airport’s accommodation options. This $230 million project stands as Victoria’s largest hotel development this year and the first of its kind within the airport area in nearly two decades.
Designed by FK Architect with interiors by Woods Bagot, this dual-branded hotel represents a significant boost to the travel economy, providing more lodging choices for travelers in and out of Melbourne. The hotel boasts 464 stylishly designed guest rooms, with 248 located in Novotel and 216 in ibis Styles.
Conveniently situated within The Hive precinct, the new properties offer easy access to Terminal 4 at Melbourne Airport, enhancing the overall travel experience for guests.
Accor Pacific Chief Operating Officer PM&E Adrian Williams said: “As the countdown begins to the launch of Novotel and ibis Styles Melbourne Airport, we’re thrilled to be working with Melbourne Airport to deliver the first internationally branded hotels to open at the airport in more than 20 years.”

Taking inspiration from the picturesque landscapes of regional Victoria, Novotel Melbourne Airport’s design aims to evoke a serene and tranquil ambiance. A soothing color palette is employed to cultivate a calming haven for guests, offering a natural and refreshing atmosphere.
The design of ibis Styles Melbourne Airport captures the vibrant urban energy of Melbourne, featuring a distinctive, playful, and personalised aesthetic.
To highlight Melbourne’s diverse culinary scene, travelers can indulge in dining experiences at three distinct venues: Small Holdings Cafe for coffee and pastries, Boccata Restaurant and Wine Bar for authentic Italian cuisine, and Amber State Taphouse & Kitchen, a contemporary gastro-pub.
Additionally, guests will have access to Higher State, Melbourne’s inaugural airport health and wellbeing club. This exclusive facility features an indoor heated pool, sauna, massage services, and a fitness center, providing a rejuvenating retreat for travelers seeking self-care following a lengthy flight.

Novotel and ibis Styles Melbourne Airport, located in the City of Hume, are also partnering with local attractions to enhance the guest experience.
The hotels offer easy access to Melbourne Airport with continued plans to build partnership programs with URBNSurf, Essendon Football Club, Melbourne Airport Golf Club and Sunbury wine region.
