After travelling more than 2,000 kilometres across regional Victoria and delivering surprise performances in some of the state’s most loved destinations, ALWAYS LIVE’s Victorian Vibes series is heading to Geelong for its final stop.
The free live music experience will take over Victoria’s second city on Saturday 27 June, bringing the curtain down on a statewide tour that has transformed streets, parks and public spaces into pop-up music venues.
Since launching earlier this year, Victorian Vibes has made its way through Bendigo, Shepparton, Lorne, Ballarat and Traralgon, drawing thousands of music lovers and showcasing some of Australia’s most celebrated artists. Along the journey, audiences have been treated to performances from the likes of Angus & Julia Stone, Matt Corby, King Stingray, Boy & Bear, Augie March and Middle Kids, with each location offering its own unique atmosphere and community spirit.
Geelong now gets its turn, with organisers promising another afternoon of live music, unexpected moments and local celebration. In keeping with the series’ signature format, the artists and exact locations will remain under wraps until closer to the event, adding an extra layer of anticipation for those planning to attend.
ALWAYS LIVE CEO Psyche Payne said the response to the regional edition of Victorian Vibes had surpassed expectations.
“From the very first ALWAYS LIVE Vibes event, we knew we had something special on our hands – our run of summer dates through Melbourne’s CBD was magical, but the response from regional Victoria to this state-wide edition has exceeded every expectation. Every town has shown up with such generosity and spirit, and we are excited to bring this ALWAYS LIVE chapter to a close through the stunning sites of Geelong.”
Supported by the Victorian Government through Visit Victoria, the initiative continues ALWAYS LIVE’s mission of celebrating communities through live music while supporting regional tourism and local businesses.
