It’s believed that the population of Victoria has reached seven million people for the first time ever.
New projections from the Australian Bureau of Statistics have reveled the state was set to reach this milestone by early July this year.
According to the ABS’s quarterly population report released this week, Victoria’s population was sitting at around 6.96 million people on 31 March this year. It had grown by 180,000 people – or 2.7 per cent – from the previous year.
The state has added an extra million people in 8 years – Victoria’s population reached six million in 2016,
The ABS report also revealed that Australia’s population passed 27 million people in March this year.
