Two great culinary minds – Ross Howse, the Chief Sandwich Officer behind Bangin Sangas, and QT Melbourne‘s Executive Chef, Nic Wood – have joined forces to create the ultimate comfort food mashup: La Sanga, available for one month only.
Inspired by childhood memories and the comfort of homecooked meals, La Sanga delivers Italian indulgence in every bite. La Sanga is where a thick slice of pork and veal lasagna drenched in cacio e pepe béchamel sauce, and topped with freshly shaved parmesan is sandwiched between golden garlic bread.
And because no great sandwich should stand alone, it’s paired with a side of deep-fried potatoes to soak up every last drop of saucy goodness.
For Ross, the inspiration behind La Sanga hits close to home. He says, “Growing up, my mum’s lasagna was the ultimate comfort food. I’d sit at the table with garlic bread and lasagna, creating my own makeshift sandwiches. La Sanga brings those memories back but in a totally elevated way.”
Chef Nic Wood is equally excited, “Melbourne’s sandwich culture is on fire right now, and Ross has been at the centre of that movement. We’ve had so much fun bouncing ideas around and testing out recipes. La Sanga is the result of some seriously delicious experimentation, taking something familiar and making it unforgettable – we can’t wait for people to try it.”
Available until 31 October 2024, La Sanga will debut exclusively at Deli QT and via QT Melbourne’s Room Service at 133 Russell Street Melbourne.
