Three of the founding members of the iconic British punk rock band the Sex Pistols have teamed with modern-day punk icon Frank Carter and will tour Australia in April, playing the Sex Pistols’ 1977 album Never Mind The Bollocks in full.
Paul Cook, Steve Jones and Glen Matlock joined with Carter last year to play three nights fundraising for West London’s Bush Hall. The foursome stunned fans and critics alike, creating a sonic onslaught and mayhem reminiscent of 1976. Carter fitted like a glove, perfectly recreating the songs that changed the world, while resolutely remaining himself.

Now they’re bringing this act down under with a tour of Australia and New Zealand. It will be nearly 30 years since the Sex Pistols were last on these shores. In Melbourne, you’ll be able to catch them at Festival Hall on Saturday 5 April.
Never Mind the Bollocks, Here’s the Sex Pistols’ was the Sex Pistols’ only studio album. It featured the three founders, as well as John Lydon (better known by his persona Johnny Rotten) and Sid Vicious.
Matlock left the band early on during the recording of the album and was replaced with Sid as the band’s bass player. Sid died in 1979 of a drug overdose.
Former lead singer Lydon has said that ne no longer wants to perform with the band, citing internal conflicts. The rest of the band, on the other hand, are said to be uncomfortable with Lydon’s politics – he has more right-wing beliefs than he held in the punk era that are the antithesis of the messages in their music.
