Carly Electric is about to light up Melbourne Fringe with the show that’s had audiences buzzing across the country. Following a sold-out debut at Adelaide Fringe earlier this year, where she added an Auslan-interpreted session to meet demand, the comedian and multi award-winning escort is bringing her unfiltered comedy hour In My Box to Trades Hall for a ten-show run.
Carly’s reputation precedes her. Known as one of Australia’s most infamous sex workers, she’s also a podcaster, horse-racing identity and social media powerhouse with more than 250,000 followers.
Her raw, autobiographical style blends sharp stand-up with outrageous, cautionary tales from her “day job”, unpacking the bizarre, hilarious and sometimes uncomfortable truths of the sex industry. If you’ve ever wondered what really goes on behind the screen, Carly’s set pulls back the curtain with wit, grit and a wickedly playful delivery.
2024 set the stage for her comedic pivot – a year that literally began with a lightning strike. By 2025, Carly had launched her podcast In My Box through the Acast network, offering listeners a candid look into the glamorous and gritty sides of her world.
Now, Melbourne audiences get the live version: a performance that will leave you laughing at things you shouldn’t, wincing at things you should, and questioning everything you thought you knew about intimacy and desire.
Carly Electric will be at Trades Hall as part of Melbourne Fringe from 1-12 October. Tickets available here.
