A new drawcard for families is about to land at Chadstone, with Imaginationation set to open on Monday 8 December and reshape how Melbourne does indoor play. The 1,200sqm venue sits within the shopping centre and brings a design-first approach to children’s entertainment, blending architecture, sensory learning and family-friendly hospitality in one purpose-built space.
Bookings are now open for sessions inside the playcentre, which has been created for children aged 0 to 7. The layout leans into interactive zones, quiet sensory corners and hands-on learning experiences, all designed to encourage exploration rather than passive play. The focus on high-quality design is deliberate, with the space aiming to appeal as much to parents and carers as it does to kids.

“Imaginationation is more than just a playcentre, it’s a place where design meets discovery. We wanted to create an environment that inspires joy, creativity and imagination at every turn. It’s not just for children, but for their grown-ups too,” said founder Ari Ritz, a Melbourne-based entrepreneur and father of two.
Families can expect a strong café offering, serving coffee, smoothies and better-for-you snacks alongside meals for babies and toddlers from Le Puree. The centre has collaborated with local label Halcyon Nights to create colourful staff uniforms and a merch range, adding a distinctly Melbourne touch.

Play classes, a CONNETIX Builder Room and birthday party packages will be part of the program, and annual memberships will be available.
Located at Chadstone Shopping Centre, Imaginationation will run daily from 9am to 5:30pm as a permanent addition to the precinct. More details and bookings can be found at imaginationation.com.au.
