Easter is fast approaching – this year the long weekend falls from 3 to 6 April. There’s plenty of activities around Melbourne and regional Victoria both on the weekend itself, and in the lead up to it. From festivals and picnics to family fun days, Easter markets, visits from the Easter Bunny and Easter egg hunts, there’s something for just about everyone. We’ve rounded up this massive list of what’s happening around the state:
Saturday 28 March

- Mega bunnies will be handing out Easter eggs around Central Coburg on 28 March.
- Enjoy a fun morning tea packed with chocolatey treats and a special visit from the Easter Bunny at Greensborough Plaza on 28 March.
- A colourful display of giant Easter eggs, bunnies and neon lights will pop up in the Sturt Street Gardens in Ballarat from 28 March to 9 April. This Insta-worthy activation will see the return of 18 larger-than-life eggs painted by Rebecca Warr, Easter themed neon installations by acclaimed visual artist Carla O’Brien, five gold and two Easter Bunnies.
Sunday 29 March
- Join in an Easter egg hunt at the Skyline wheel precinct in South Wharf on 28-29 March.
- Hop on over to Thomas Street Reserve in Hampton for the 2026 Easter Eggstravaganza, a fun filled celebration for the whole family on 29 March.
- Keysborough’s Big Picnic brings a day of free family activities to Frederick Wachter Reserve on 29 March.
- Croydon Central’s Easter Market Day is on 29 March.
- The Friends of Black Rock House are hosting an Easter Egg Hunt on 29 March.
- The Baxter Fire Brigades Easter egg hunt is on 29 March.

Wednesday 1 April
- The Rotary Club of Kyabram’s annual Easter Egg Hunt is back on Wednesday 1 April.
- Sunshine’s much-loved Easter celebration, B is for Bunny, returns to RT Pollard Gardens for its fourth year. Delivered in partnership with SkyBus, this free community event will activate the playground and park areas for an afternoon of Easter fun on Wednesday 1 April 2026
Thursday 2 April
- South Melbourne Market’s annual Easter egg hunt is taking place on Thursday 2 April.
- There’s an Easter Egg Hunt on Lygon Street in Carlton on 2 April.
- Enlighten Easter on 2 April is an immersive light experience that transforms the Peace Park at the Great Stupa for Universal Compassion near Bendigo into a unique lightscape.
- The Maldon Easter Fair is on 2-6 April.
Friday 3 April
- Bendigo’s beautiful Rosalind Park and surrounding streets will be transformed into a vibrant precinct bursting with family-friendly entertainment when the annual Bendigo Easter Festival returns from 3-6 April.
- The Geelong Easter Fest is on 3-6 April.
- The Northern Grampians Easter Festival runs from 3-6 April.
- Celebrate Easter at the waterfront at Wyndham Harbour in Werribee South from 3-5 April with a full weekend of food, family fun and festive experiences.
- The Kids Day Out at MCEC on 3 April is a day full of entertainment, activities and amusements and helps the Good Friday Appeal in raising money for The Royal Children’s Hospital.
- LaManna at Essendon Fields is hosting a very special Good Friday Easter event on Friday 3 April, bringing together the community for a fun, family-focused day in support of the Good Friday Appeal, where 100% of the proceeds will be donated.
